Clar Angkasa is an author, illustrator, animator, and comic artist with a passion for narrative art. She was born and raised in Jakarta, Indonesia, graduated from Rhode Island School of Design with a BFA in Illustration, and is currently based in Brooklyn, New York. Clar’s graphic novel debut, Stories of the Islands, is forthcoming from Holiday House in fall 2023, with a second graphic novel to follow in spring 2025. When she’s not creating art, Clar is likely obsessing over food, lurking in random cafes, indulging in wine and cheese, or listening to true crime comedy podcasts.
