Jacob Anbinder is a historian of the modern United States with a particular focus on cities and suburbs in the twentieth century. His research interests include American politics and political culture, social inequality, housing policy, and infrastructure. Jacob’s writing has been published in The Atlantic, The Wall Street Journal, U.S. News & World Report, Business History Review, The Week, Democracy: A Journal of Ideas, and other outlets. Currently a Klarman Postdoctoral Fellow at Cornell University, he received his PhD in history from Harvard University in 2023. His debut work of political nonfiction, NIMBY Nation, will be published by Bloomsbury in 2027.
