Speed Levitch

Timothy “Speed” Levitch is an actor, tour guide, speaker, author, and voice actor, based in Kansas City and New York. A licensed New York City tour guide since 1992, he has worked with Apple and Gray Line Tours as a tour bus guide, and quickly attracted a cult following for his distinctive, fast-talking tours — The New York Times called him “the Walt Whitman of the double decker bus.” He was later the subject of The Cruise, an award-winning documentary from Academy Award-nominated director Bennett Miller, which was screened at a number of international film festivals. He has frequently collaborated with Academy Award-nominated director Richard Linklater, who directed him in Up to Speed, a comedic docu-series currently available to stream on Hulu, the cult animated film Waking Life, and the smash hit comedy School of Rock. Recently, he appeared as himself on HBO’s High Maintenance. He has performed his monologue “Midtown Loop” at sold-out venues in New York City, and continues to give public and private tours.
