Brenda Miller is the author of five essay collections, the most recent of which are A Braided Heart: Essays on Writing and Form, and The Next Draft: Inspiring Craft Talks from the Rainier Writing Workshop published by the University of Michigan Press.. She has co-authored three editions of Tell It Slant: Creating, Refining and Publishing Creative Nonfiction with Suzanne Paola. She was the Editor-in-Chief of the Bellingham Review for 17 years and her own poetry has appeared in Tupelo Quarterly, Sweet, Bellevue Literary Review, and Psaltery and Lyre. She is the recipient of six Pushcart Prizes. She lives in Washington state, where she is a Professor of English at Western Washington University, and associate faculty at the Rainier Writing Workshop
