Darla Himeles

Darla Himeles (they/them) is a Philadelphia-based poet and writer for young people, a mental health advocate, and an assistant teaching professor at Widener University. They are the author of the poetry collections Flesh Enough and Cleave (Get Fresh Books). A recipient of the Highlights Foundation’s Whole Novel Scholarship for Jewish Writers, Darla’s published poems and essays have been nominated for the Pushcart Prize and Best of the Net. They hold an AB in English from Bryn Mawr College, an MFA in poetry and poetry in translation from Drew University, and a PhD in American literature from Temple University.
