Devorah Heitner is an author, speaker, and an expert on young people’s relationship with digital media and technology. Her latest book on the subject, Growing Up in Public (TarcherPerigee, 2023) was an instant USA Today bestseller. She is also the author of Screenwise: Helping Kids Thrive (and Survive) in Their Digital World (Routledge, 2016); the second edition of the book was released in 2023. Dr. Heitner’s work has appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, TIME magazine and Education Week. She has a Ph.D. in Media/Technology & Society from Northwestern University and has taught at DePaul and Northwestern.
