Lindsey Yankey is a children’s book illustrator and author. Her book My Grandma and Me (written by Mina Javaherbin) was nominated for the 2020 Kate Greenaway Medal and received four starred reviews; Bluebird and Sun and Moon, both written and illustrated by Lindsey, each won Kansas Notable Book and received starred reviews from Booklist. Her forthcoming titles include My Father’s House (Candlewick, November 2024) and The Dinosaur Seed (Beaming Books, Summer 2025). Lindsey’s illustrations have been exhibited at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair, featured in American Illustration, and awarded Gold in 3×3 Magazine‘s International Picture Book Show. She is passionate about children’s literature and the creative process of making picture books. Lindsey enjoys using traditional media including watercolor, oil paint, cut paper, pencil, and linoleum cut. She teaches at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, where she lives with her family.
