Marc Herman is the author of Searching for El Dorado, a description of his travels with Amazon gold miners. A longtime foreign correspondent, he is also the author of The Shores of Tripoli, a story about the Libyan revolt based on his reporting for The Atlantic, and The Wizard and the Volcano, a dispatch from a natural disaster in Indonesia. His current projects are One in a Million, a reconstruction of a high-stakes immigration case, and The Barcelona Apartment, which summarizes blunders he made while rebuilding an historic home in Barcelona, where he currently lives with his son.
