Samantha Chong is a Malaysian fiction writer currently based in New York City. Her debut YA novel, Prodigal Tiger, will be published by Putnam Children’s in fall 2025. Having lived all around the globe, Samantha is interested in exploring what it means to belong, whether that’s tied to places, people, or the myriad of ways that someone can carve out their space in an increasingly shifting world. When she’s not writing, Samantha is out and about exploring, keeping an eye out for the hidden histories waiting to be shared, or in her kitchen, attempting to whip up culinary creations.
