Nominated for the 2022 Hans Christian Andersen Medal, Tohby Riddle is the multi-award-winning creator of numerous picture books and illustrated books, which have been widely recognised in Australia and overseas for their quality and originality. This includes one of the world’s greatest living writers Haruki Murakami translating Tohby’s book My Uncle’s Donkey into Japanese after discovering it in a Melbourne bookshop in 2018. Other books include The Great Escape from City Zoo, The Singing Hat, Nobody Owns the Moon and most recently The Astronaut’s Cat. Tohby also illustrated the Word Spy series with Ursula Dubosarsky (known as The Word Snoop in the US).
