Celia Lee at Simon and Schuster has bought Imagine New Suns, a picture book about the life of Octavia Butler, written by Gwendolyn Wallace and illustrated by Hayden Goodman. Publication is slated for summer 2026.
Goodman’s illustration debut was The Green Piano (Anne Schwartz Books, 2023) by Grammy Award-winner Roberta Flack and Tonya Bolden; her forthcoming projects include The Heart Never Forgets (Atheneum, 2024), written by Ana Ot, and a reimagining of Clement Clarke Moore’s The Night Before Christmas (Holt Children’s, 2025)
