Viking Children’s will publish the first graphic novel featuring Madeline, the iconic character created by Ludwig Bemelmans. The graphic novel will be written by Ludwig’s grandson, John Bemelmans Marciano, and illustrated by bestselling and award-winning illustrators LeUyen Pham and Alex Puvilland. Publication is planned for 2027.
Marciano previously authored and illustrated five books in the series: Madeline and the Cats of Rome, Madeline at the White House, Madeline and the Old House in Paris, Madeline’s Tea Party and Madeline and Her Dog.
